Christopher hitchens
He was a hero to me and I thought on this blog he should be the first one I ever blog about. He thought of himself as a anti-theist and always to me at least spoke from the heart and gave people what many need which is brutal honesty.
I was talking to a friend once, I had just watched a video on pigs being buried alive in Japan, one of them said to me “Why do you watch those things” Implying that I was strange, odd or had a mental issue which too another friend replied “It does no good to be naive and think that the world is butterfly’s and rainbows”
That is how I have always seen Christopher Hitchens, The reality we always needed.
When I got the phone call that he had passed from my mother it was rather of a smack to the face but for me it sunk in much later whilst watching his debates that my heart really hurt. He truly opened a lot of people’s eyes when it came to religion, I find it hard to explain him, there are just to many words that come to mind to explain someone who really did have such a amazing effect on you.
